چکیده

A method is presented for the analysis of the fatty acid compositions in each of the three positions of a triglyceride. Diglycerides are obtained from the triglyceride by lipolysis with pancreatic lipase, and converted to a mixture of Dand L-phosphatidyl phenol. The L-phosphatide is then hydrolyzed by phospholipase A, leaving a lysophosphatide with the fatty acid in position 1, free fatty acid from position 2, and unhydrolyzed D-phosphatidyl phenol. The fatty acid composition in position 3 of the original triglyceride is obtained by calculation. The method was tested on two triglyceride mixtures with known fatty acid distributions. A natural triglyceride, corn oil, was analyzed. The distribution of the major fatty acids between positions l and 3 was found to be nearly random.

Stereospecific analysis of triglycerides: an alternative method.

A new method for the stereospecific analysis of triglycerides is demonstrated on a corn oil which had been analyzed by an earlier method. The triglyceride (1,2,3-triacyl L-glycerol) was partially degraded by means of methyl magnesium bromide. The 1,3-diglyceride was then isolated, and converted into l-2-phosphatidyl phenol, from which phospholipase A cleaved the fatty acids from position 1. The...

Authentication of Coffea arabica according to Triacylglycerol Stereospecific Composition

Stereospecific analysis is an important tool for the characterization of lipid fraction of food products. In the present research, an approach to characterize arabica and robusta varieties by structural analysis of the triacylglycerol (TAG) fraction is reported. The lipids were Soxhlet extracted from ground roasted coffee beans with petroleum ether, and the fatty acids (FA) were determined as t...

Stereospecific analyses of several vegetable fats.

The distribution of fatty acids among the positions 1, 2, and 3 of triglycerides of seven vegetable fats has been determined. The fatty acid compositions in positions 1 and 3 are very similar in most cases, but in none of the fats is the distribution completely symmetrical.

Recent advances in the polymerization of butadiene over the last decade

The stereospecific polymerization of conjugated dienes began in 1954 with the first catalysts obtained by combining TiCl4 or TiCl3 with aluminum-alkyls, i.e. the catalytic systems previously employed for ethylene and propylene polymerizations. Subsequently, many other catalytic systems were obtained and examined by a combination of transition metal or lanthanide compounds with appropriate alkyl...

Studies on fat digestion, absorption, and transport in the suckling rat. II. Triacylglycerols: molecular species, stereospecific analysis, and specificity of hydrolysis by lingual lipase.

Triacylglycerols (TG) of rat milk supply about two-thirds of the energy consumed by suckling rat pups. The present studies were undertaken to determine stereospecific fatty acid composition and molecular species distribution of milk TG and TG produced during digestion, transported in lymph and blood, and present in the liver of 9-- 10-day-old pups. Results support non-random stereochemical fatt...
